California Integrated Waste Management Board

The California Integrated Waste Management Board was formed in 1990 following passage of the Integrated Waste Management Act, as one of six agencies under the California Environmental Protection Agency.

The Board is responsible for protecting the public's health and safety and the environment through management of over 66 million tons of municipal solid waste generated in California each year. To assist in the safe and effective management of the waste stream, the Board offers funding opportunities to public and private entities.
